May 22, 2008 – 4:39 pmSometimes after I’ve been driving for a while or I come out of the shower and someone has been trying to get a hold of me, I’ve got several missed calls from that person. It was obviously quite important or they wouldn’t have called so many times yet I can’t remember the last time someone left me a voicemail message.
I think I might be the same though. I can’t remember the last time I left a voicemail message. I prefer to hang up and send a txt instead or generally just send a txt in the first place. I actually prefer txting to talking on the phone. Is this common? Are we becoming a nation of txters rather than talkers?

Working in technical support has changed by preference to talking rather than txting or emailing. If I thought my recipient’s reply might contain a question I would rather phone them.

I often prefer texting to phoning but it really depends on the other person. With family or close friends it is often really lovely to have a proper conversation. I especially appreciate this after spending so much time abroad. I’m not sure what I would do if I didn’t have phone calls from the people I care about the most back in Glasgow. xxx
